When the evaporator section of the heat pipe is heated by the hot flue gas, the liquid in the capillary wick evaporates. Driven by a small pressure difference, the vapour flows to the condenser section, where it gives off heat to the incoming fresh air, condenses and returns to the evaporator section by gravity or capillary force – heat is transferred continuously between the flue gas and the fresh air.
Side-by-side (H) or stacked (V, 1–5 layers) version, matched to FKE G series units.
Heat can be transferred to a water circuit. The housing is made of carbon steel, the heat pipe of steel-aluminium composite tube, with a baffle plate on the water tank side.
